What You'll Do
- Lead and develop a team responsible for payment accounting operations, funds management, reconciliations, settlement support, financial reporting, and exception management.
- Oversee daily payment activity across multiple bank accounts, payment providers, customer programs, and internal systems.
- Ensure payment transactions, settlement activity, bank activity, and system outputs are accurately reconciled while identifying and resolving discrepancies.
- Establish and strengthen financial controls, reconciliation processes, documentation standards, and audit readiness.
- Partner with Finance, Accounting, Operations, Technology, Compliance, banks, and payment providers to improve operational processes and resolve complex issues.
- Support onboarding of new payment providers, customers, payment methods, bank accounts, and operational workflows.
- Own management, operational, and customer-facing reporting for the Payment Services portfolio.
- Improve reporting quality, automation, governance, and visibility through Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Databricks, AI, and other reporting technologies.
- Lead reporting modernization initiatives, including requirements gathering, testing, validation, documentation, and adoption.
- Coach and develop team members while fostering accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
What We're Looking For
- 7+ years of experience in payment operations, accounting operations, financial operations, treasury, revenue operations, reconciliation, settlement support, or another high-volume transaction environment.
- 3+ years leading teams, operational workflows, reconciliation functions, reporting teams, or cross-functional process improvement initiatives.
- Experience overseeing funds management, payment accounting, bank activity, settlement support, reconciliations, and financial controls.
- Strong understanding of payment flows, transaction lifecycles, accounting impacts, settlement timing, exceptions, and reporting governance.
- Experience producing management, operational, portfolio, and customer-facing reporting.
- Hands-on experience with Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Databricks, or similar reporting and analytics platforms.
- Experience improving reporting or reconciliation processes through automation, BI tools, AI, or process standardization.
- Advanced Excel skills, including reconciliations, reporting automation, pivot tables, and complex financial analysis.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to balance leadership responsibilities while remaining hands-on when needed.
