ICE Barcelona 2027 for Job Seekers
By Daniel Moss · Updated 2026-11-03
ICE is one of the biggest dates in the gambling industry calendar, and for anyone trying to get into iGaming or move up in it, three days in one building with most of the sector is hard to beat. This guide covers what ICE Barcelona 2027 is, when and where it runs, how passes work, who you will meet on the floor, and how to turn a few days of walking the halls into interviews.
When and where is ICE Barcelona 2027?
The organiser has published the dates. ICE Barcelona 2027 runs from 18 to 20 January 2027 at Fira Barcelona Gran Via, Av. Joan Carles I, 64, in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, just outside central Barcelona. Opening hours on the official site are 10:00 to 18:00 CET on Monday 18 and Tuesday 19 January, and 10:00 to 16:00 CET on Wednesday 20 January. The show sits inside World Gaming Week, which runs from 17 to 21 January 2027.
Plan around that short final day. The show closes two hours earlier on Wednesday, so put your most important meetings on Monday and Tuesday.
What is ICE, and when did it move from London to Barcelona?
ICE is a business to business trade show, not a consumer event. The official site sums it up as the place the world of gaming goes to do business: companies come to sell, buy, partner and recruit. The organiser is WorldGaming, the company formerly known as Clarion Gaming.
For years ICE was a London fixture. The organiser's own news archive confirms that ExCeL London had hosted the show since 2013, that the February 2024 edition was the last one held in London, and that the first Barcelona edition ran in January 2025. So if you see older articles calling it ICE London, it is the same event.
Is ICE Barcelona 2027 free to attend?
This is the question most people search for, and the answer depends on who you are. The official FAQ says businesses that sell into the gaming industry need a paid MeetMe pass to get in. The FAQ lists MeetMe from 199 euros plus VAT, rising to 499 euros closer to the show, and a MeetMe+ option at 1,999 euros plus VAT that adds a reserved table in the MeetMe area for all three days. Passes are non-refundable but can be transferred to a colleague, and there is a discount for groups booking five or more.
For gaming decision-makers, meaning people on the operator side, the FAQ says there are various ticket types, but the pages we checked did not set out a free visitor pass or a dedicated job seeker ticket for 2027. Exhibitors register separately through the organiser's eZone portal. Before you book travel, go to the official ICE FAQ and registration pages, pick the category that honestly describes you, and check the price that applies on the day you register, because MeetMe pricing rises as the show gets closer.
One practical point: if you are attending as an employee of a company, your employer may already be buying passes. Ask before paying yourself.
Who exhibits and attends?
The official site lists land-based, online, lottery, sports betting, payments and regulators, and the FAQ adds casino and esports. In practice, the floor is a map of the whole industry:
- Suppliers. Game studios, live casino providers, sportsbook and platform providers, data and odds companies. They usually have the largest stands and bring product, sales and account management staff.
- Operators. The brands that run casinos and sportsbooks. They come mainly to buy and to meet partners, and the official conference programme is built around operator topics such as compliance, advertising restrictions, retention, AI and platform security, and entering Latin America.
- Payments and tech. The official site gives Hall 7 to technology, innovation and fintech companies.
- Affiliates and media buyers. iGB Affiliate, run by the same organiser, takes place at Fira Barcelona Gran Via on 19 and 20 January 2027, so affiliate managers and traffic people are around in numbers.
- Regulators. The organiser highlights regulator attendance and runs dedicated meeting space for them, which is useful context if you are interested in compliance work.
If you are not sure how these business models differ as employers, read operator vs supplier vs affiliate before you build your list. The day-to-day work, the pace and the roles on offer are quite different on each side.
Can you find a job at ICE?
Yes, but not in the way a jobs fair works. We found no dedicated careers or recruitment zone on the official ICE site for 2027. Most stands are staffed by sales and product people whose targets are clients, not candidates. Some companies do bring HR or talent teams and say so publicly before the show, so watch employer social pages in December and January.
The realistic goal is not to be hired on the stand. It is to leave with five to ten named contacts who know your face, and a short list of follow-ups that turn into interviews in February. ICE is a networking event first. Treat it that way and it works.
How to prepare: the two weeks before
Build a target list. The official site publishes a 2027 exhibitor list and floorplan. Pick 15 to 25 companies that match the work you want, then group them by hall so you are not crossing the venue all day. Cross-check them against our company directory to see who has been hiring and in which locations, and search open iGaming jobs for roles at those companies so you have something specific to ask about.
Fix your CV first. Bring a one-page version as a PDF on your phone, plus a few printed copies. Lead with results and the iGaming terms that match the role. Our iGaming CV tips cover what recruiters in this industry scan for.
Tidy LinkedIn. Most contacts you make will look you up that evening. Your headline should say what you do and what you want ('CRM executive, casino, looking for retention roles in Malta or remote'), and your photo should match the person they met. Add 'attending ICE Barcelona' to your headline in the week before.
Book meetings in advance. A cold stand visit works sometimes. A message sent a week before ('I am at ICE on Monday and Tuesday, could I have ten minutes at your stand?') works more often. Message hiring managers and team leads in your function, not only recruiters. Some will say no. A few will say yes, and those meetings are worth more than a day of walking.
Prepare your 30 seconds. Who you are, what you have done, what you are looking for. Practise until it sounds natural. Also prepare for the questions that come next, the same ones in our iGaming interview questions guide, because a stand conversation can turn into an informal interview without warning.
Etiquette on the floor
- Read the stand first. If staff are in a client meeting, do not interrupt. Come back later or leave a note with a colleague.
- Lead with interest, not a CV. Ask about the product, the markets they are entering, or the team you would join. Offer your CV when they ask, or at the end.
- Keep it short. Five minutes is plenty. Ask who the right person is and how they prefer to be contacted, then let them get back to work.
- Be honest about why you are there. Do not pose as a buyer or client to get a meeting. The industry is small and people remember.
- Dress like the people you want to work with. Business casual is safe. Comfortable shoes matter more than you think, because the venue is large.
- Use the evenings carefully. Side events and parties are where a lot of networking happens. Stay professional, because you are still being assessed.
A warning: fake recruiters and fake job offers do circulate in this industry, and a busy show week gives them cover. Our guide to spotting fake iGaming job offers lists the warning signs. Never pay a fee to secure an interview or a role.
Follow-up: the part most people skip
The value of ICE is decided in the week after it ends. Every evening, write down who you met, what you talked about and what they asked you to do. Within 48 hours of the show, send a short LinkedIn message or email to each contact. Mention one specific thing from your conversation, attach or link your CV if they asked for it, and say clearly what you would like to happen next, such as a call or an introduction to the hiring manager.
If a contact mentioned a vacancy, apply through the official channel as well, and tell them you have done so. Many companies route every hire through their careers system even when the referral came from a stand conversation. If you hear nothing after a week, one polite reminder is fine. After that, move on and keep the connection warm for later in the year.
Other events if you cannot make ICE
ICE is not the only show worth your time. Other conferences run through the year, and some of them are smaller and easier to work as a job seeker. Our iGaming events 2027 guide lists the main dates so you can plan the rest of the year around the shows that fit your target employers.
