How to Become a Live Casino Dealer

By Daniel Moss · Updated 2026-11-03

A live casino dealer, usually called a game presenter by the studios, runs real casino games on camera for players watching online. It is one of the few iGaming jobs you can get with no experience, no degree and no casino background, as long as you speak a language the studios broadcast in. This guide covers the work, the studios that hire and where, pay from their own job ads, and how to get in.

What does a live casino dealer actually do?

You stand at a real table in a broadcast studio, facing cameras. Evolution describes the core of the job simply: you open the game, accept the bets, deal the cards or spin the ball, and announce the winner, while talking to players throughout.

  • Table games. Blackjack, roulette and baccarat are the core, plus variants and poker-style games.
  • Game shows. Bigger studios also run entertainment titles with wheels, bonus rounds and more presenting than dealing.
  • Player chat. Players type messages and you reply on air, friendly but within the studio's rules.
  • Fair play. Everything happens in view of the cameras and follows strict procedure. Studio job ads stress attention to detail and reporting any irregularity, because the integrity of the game is the product.

Studios also hire shufflers, who prepare cards and equipment off camera. Evolution in Malta and ARRISE Live in Belgrade and Sofia both advertise shuffler roles alongside presenter ones, and it can be a way in if you are not yet comfortable on camera.

Shifts, studio rules and the working day

Live casinos never close. Evolution says it broadcasts 24/7/365 and offers morning, day and night shifts as well as part-time work. Its Yerevan ads split the day into three fixed shifts: 8am to 4pm, 4pm to midnight, and midnight to 8am. ARRISE Live runs its presenter roles on a three-shift system with rotations and a 40-hour week. Several ads mention paid breaks, and Evolution offers transport home after night shifts in Malta and Tbilisi.

Expect clear rules on how you present, look and behave, close supervision, and cameras that are always on. ARRISE Live says its studios have hair and make-up teams, Evolution provides uniforms in Bucharest, and Playtech's Riga ads mention make-up workshops. The main thing to weigh is repetition: the same game, hour after hour.

Who hires live casino dealers, and where?

The best-known employers are the big live casino suppliers. Locations below come from their own careers pages in November 2026.

Evolution

Evolution, founded in Sweden in 2006, opened its first studio in Riga, Latvia. Its careers site currently lists game presenter vacancies in Malta (Birkirkara), Riga, Tbilisi, Yerevan and Bucharest, plus studios in Lithuania, Bulgaria, Spain, North America, Latin America and the Philippines. Evolution Romania was set up in 2016, Evolution Georgia in 2018 and Evolution Armenia in 2020. Malta is described as one of its largest studios, broadcasting in many native languages, and its Malta ads offer flights plus accommodation for the first 14 to 20 nights for people relocating. Some Malta ads, such as Korean and Turkish ones, also mention visa sponsorship.

Pragmatic Play (through ARRISE Live)

Pragmatic Play mentions a live studio in Bucharest on its own site. Its presenter roles are advertised by ARRISE Live, which runs live casino operations for partners including Pragmatic Play. ARRISE Live lists studios in Bucharest, Sofia, Belgrade, Bogotá and Toronto, and its job board also carries presenter and premium host roles with full relocation to Ras Al Khaimah in the UAE.

Playtech Live

Playtech calls its Riga operation, Playtech Live Latvia, the headquarters of its live studios, with 1,900 people in Latvia according to its job ads. It also runs a Bucharest studio (PTR Live Technologies, operating since 2016), plus live studios in Spain, Peru, Brazil and the US states of Michigan, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

Smaller studios hire too. Browse current live casino jobs to see which studios are recruiting this week.

What do you need to become a game presenter?

Across the ads we read, the common requirements are:

  • A language. This is the real entry ticket. Evolution says it broadcasts in more than 15 languages. English roles in Riga and Bucharest ask only for elementary or basic English, while native-language roles need fluency in that language plus some English.
  • Age 18 or over. Evolution's Riga, Bucharest and Tbilisi ads all state a minimum age of 18. Some North American studios, such as Evolution in Atlantic City, also ask hires to be eligible for a local gaming licence.
  • Secondary education. ARRISE Live in Belgrade and Evolution Georgia ask for high school or secondary education.
  • Attitude on camera. Confidence, clear speech, precision and a service mindset matter more than any CV line. Customer service or hospitality work helps but is not required.
  • Shift flexibility. You must be able to work rotating shifts, nights and weekends.

No experience is needed for standard roles. The exception is premium or VIP tables: Evolution's English VIP team in Tbilisi asks for at least a year of casino experience and solid blackjack knowledge. For more entry routes into the industry, see our guide to iGaming jobs with no experience.

How does dealer training work?

The big studios train new hires themselves, and the training is paid. Evolution starts everyone in its Evolution Academy, teaching game technique and presentation skills to make you camera-ready. The length varies by site: Evolution's ads mention a paid five-day course in Riga, five to seven days in Bucharest, one week in Tbilisi, and two to three weeks in Malta. ARRISE Live and Playtech both say they train you from day one.

Which languages are in demand?

English is the biggest single language, but native-language tables are where relocation packages usually appear. Ads open in November 2026 asked for presenters speaking Italian, French, Dutch, Greek, Finnish, Norwegian, Swedish, Danish, Turkish, Arabic and Korean in Malta, Russian and Turkish in Tbilisi, Russian and Arabic in Yerevan, Italian, Polish and Danish at Playtech in Riga, and Japanese, Korean, Thai, Spanish and Turkish at ARRISE Live. A native speaker of one of these has real leverage, and it shows in pay.

How much do live casino dealers earn?

Pay depends heavily on city and language. These figures come straight from the studios' own job ads, as published in November 2026:

  • Riga, Evolution: 5.45 to 9.65 euros gross per hour, plus a bonus of up to 3.70 euros per hour.
  • Riga, Playtech: 6.50 to 12.75 euros gross per hour for English presenters, and 11.79 to 17.68 euros gross per hour for Italian speakers, who also get a 400 euro net welcome bonus, a ticket to Latvia and a paid first month in a hotel.
  • Bucharest, Playtech: 4,325 RON gross (2,530 RON net) base salary for English dealers, plus a 1,000 RON net performance bonus and a 500 RON net attendance bonus.
  • Bucharest, Evolution: monthly performance bonuses of up to 1,000 lei on top of salary, plus meal tickets of 20 RON per working day.
  • Tbilisi, Evolution: 912 GEL rising to 1,780 GEL after 18 months for English presenters, and 2,400 to 3,800 GEL for the VIP team.
  • Sofia, ARRISE Live: 1,124 euros net plus a performance bonus of up to 409 euros net, with extra pay of 25% per hour on night shifts, 10% on weekends and 100% on public holidays.
  • Belgrade, ARRISE Live: 800 euros net starting salary plus a performance bonus of up to 400 euros a month.
  • Toronto, ARRISE Live: from $26 per hour for a Japanese-speaking presenter, plus 10% extra per hour on night shifts.

Evolution's Malta presenter ads describe a competitive salary with bonuses but do not publish figures. Its Malta shuffler ad gives a range of 14,400 to 18,000 euros or more, including performance bonuses. The pattern is consistent: bonuses are a real part of the package, nights pay more, and in Playtech's Riga ads Italian pays well above English.

Career path: where can the job lead?

Studios promote from within. Evolution's Riga ad says roughly 170 to 200 employees there are promoted within a year. The usual steps are:

  • Senior, VIP or premium presenter. Higher-stakes tables with better pay, like Evolution's VIP team in Tbilisi or ARRISE Live's premium game host roles.
  • Floor supervisor or shift manager. Running the studio floor during a shift. ARRISE Live's Toronto presenters already take floor supervisor duties on a rotating basis.
  • Trainer and quality control. Teaching new hires in the academy and checking game quality.
  • Studio operations. Surveillance, game integrity, scheduling and studio management. ARRISE Live, for example, advertises surveillance, quality control and training roles at its studios.

From there, some people move into wider iGaming roles such as customer support or compliance, taking their languages with them.

Pros and cons

Pros: no experience needed, paid training, a real employment contract with health insurance at the big studios, relocation for in-demand languages, on-camera and presentation skills you keep, and a visible promotion ladder.

Cons: rotating and night shifts, repetitive work, entry pay that is modest in most cities, constant supervision on camera, and occasional unpleasant player chat you must handle politely.

How to apply for live dealer jobs

  • Pick your language and city. Your strongest language decides which studios want you. If you are open to relocating, Evolution's Malta ads cover more languages than any other Evolution site we checked, and our Malta jobs page shows what else is there.
  • Apply through official channels. Use the studio's own careers page, such as the Evolution studio operations page, or a trusted job board. Real studios train you for free; read our guide to fake iGaming job offers if anything asks you for money.
  • Keep the CV short. Lead with languages and level, any customer-facing work, and shift availability. Hiring can be quick: ARRISE Live's Sofia ad promises just one interview.
  • Practise on camera. Record yourself explaining a simple game for a minute.
