Team Lead Data Engineer (ClickHouse)

About the role

As a Team Lead Data Engineer at Tribe, you will be responsible for architecting a robust data warehouse and ensuring the reliability of data streaming services. Your role involves leading a cross-functional team and implementing best practices in CI/CD and automated testing, which are crucial for maintaining high performance in a fast-paced environment.

You will work closely with product analysts and backend teams to align data strategies with business objectives. Success in this position means effectively managing risks, conducting quarterly planning, and making informed architectural decisions that support the growth of Tribe's international iGaming product.

• Responsible for the architecture of DWH, data streaming, and 24/7 reliability of platforms and services
• Lead a cross-functional team (1-on-1, Performance Review, hiring, context distribution)
• Implement CI/CD practices, automated testing, Post-Mortem failure analysis, and control SLA/SLO
• Conduct quarterly planning, manage risks, and defend architectural decisions before the business
• Maintain close connections with product analysts, BI, and Backend teams

Key Requirements (Hard Skills):

• 5+ years of commercial experience in Data Engineering (building DWH, Data Lake, and analytics infrastructure)
• 2+ years of experience as a Team Lead / Tech Lead of a cross-functional team (DE, Backend, QA)
• Deep practical experience with ClickHouse under high load (partitioning, sharding, replication, query optimization)
• Experience building event stream processing on Apache Kafka
• Excellent Python skills and practical experience designing distributed Big Data / Highload systems
• Experience implementing Data Governance systems (data catalogs, OpenMetadata)
• Skills in implementing engineering standards: CI/CD, Code Review, observability (Prometheus, OpenTelemetry), SLA/SLO control

Nice to Have:

• Experience in the iGaming sector
• Understanding of AI agent principles and architecture (LLM, RAG, Text-to-SQL)
• Experience deploying ML services in production under high load (ranking, recommendation systems)
