This Accounting Team Lead position at GR8 Tech focuses on transforming and standardizing accounting processes across various finance areas. The role requires building scalable operating models to support business growth and increasing complexity, defining accounting policies, and improving efficiency and transparency. Success means contributing to the long-term evolution of the finance function within a B2B iGaming platform provider.

A core aspect of the role is process excellence and control, involving the design and optimization of end-to-end accounting processes for revenue, accounts receivable, payroll, accounts payable, tax, and month-end close. The Team Lead will identify inefficiencies, risks, and control gaps, implementing improvements for accuracy and compliance. This includes supporting automation initiatives and ensuring audit readiness through documented processes.

The role also encompasses significant team leadership and stakeholder partnership. The Accounting Team Lead will mentor and develop a team covering statutory and managerial accounting, fostering accountability and continuous improvement. Collaboration with other departments like Finance, Tax, Payroll, and Legal is crucial to ensure process alignment and act as a trusted advisor on accounting process design and governance.

• Act as a trusted advisor on accounting process design and governance matters.
• Translate complex accounting concepts into clear and actionable guidance.
• Facilitate alignment across teams during process changes and transformation projects.

• Team leadership & development
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team covering statutory and managerial accounting.
• Build team capabilities through coaching, training programs, and knowledge sharing.
• Create onboarding materials and learning frameworks that support consistent execution.
• Foster accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement within the team.
• Serve as a subject matter expert and escalation point for accounting-related topics.

• Must-have
• 5+ years of experience in accounting, finance transformation, audit, or a related field.
• 3+ years of people management experience.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and core accounting processes.
• Solid understanding of both statutory and management accounting.
• Proven experience designing, optimizing, and documenting business processes.
• Experience developing accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence, coach, and align stakeholders.
• Upper-Intermediate English or higher.
• Professional proficiency in Ukrainian or Russian.

• Nice-to-have
• Experience in consulting or a Big 4 environment.
• Background working in complex international or multi-entity organizations.
• Experience leading finance transformation or automation initiatives.
• Exposure to process excellence methodologies and operational improvement frameworks.
